Ik houd hier op, maar, mevrouw de commissaris, ik weet dat u tien dagen gelden op bezoek was in Brescia en dat u daar – ook al doet dat in dit debat niet echt ter zake – de wijnen en kenmerkende producten van Brescia heeft kunnen proeven. Een verbod op de toevoeging van suiker aan wijn zorgt naar mijn mening voor het juiste evenwicht met betrekking tot kwaliteit en eerlijke beloning voor de producenten.
I shall stop there but, Commissioner, I am aware that ten days ago you visited Brescia, in my own province, and - even if this is not quite germane to the current debate - you were able to taste the wines and typical products of Brescia: I believe that not adding sugar to wine is a means of striking the right quality balance and fairly rewarding producers.
