La Commission suivra d’autres initiatives internationales connexes, notamment les travaux du représentant spécial des Nations unies pour la question des droits de l’homme et des sociétés transnationales et autres entreprises, l’élaboration possible par l’ISO d’une norme d’orientation sur la responsabilité sociale ainsi que des initiatives sectorielles telles que le système de certification du processus de Kimberley pour les diamants bruts.

Le volet du programme consacré au mécanisme de surveillance est une réponse concrète à la résolution 1612 du Conseil de sécurité des Nations unies qui demande "to establish a monitoring and reporting mechanism (MRM), managed by country-based task forces co-led by UNICEF and the highest UN representative in the country, to provide timely and reliable information on six grave children's rights violations: a) Killing or maiming of children; b) Recruitment or use of children by armed forces or armed groups; c) Attacks on schools or hospitals; d) Rape or other sexual violence against children; e) Abduction of children; f) Denial of humanitarian access to children". La Belgique répartit les moyens alloués entre deux types d'intervention: - soutien à des mécanismes de surveillance efficaces et mise en oeuvre de plans d'action en RCA, Somalie, RDC, aux Philippines, au Myanmar et au Soudan du Sud; - appui au siège de l'Unicef pour la mise en place effective à tous les niveaux du MRM.

Considering that the right to education is essential to the exercise of all other rights and fundamental freedoms; considering that it aims both to promote individual freedom and autonomy and to allow effective participation in society;

5. recalls that, in accordance with Article 19 of the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union, which is an integral and legally binding part of European law, no one may be removed, expelled or extradited to a State where there is a serious risk that he or she would be subjected to the death penalty, torture or other inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment », and that « collective expulsions are prohibited »; insists that all migration legislation must comply with this inalienable principle;
5. rappelle que, selon l'art.19 de la Charte des Droits Fondamentaux de l'Union Européenne, partie intégrante et contraignante de la législation européenne, « nul ne peut être éloigné, expulsé ou extradé vers un État où il existe un risque sérieux qu'il soit soumis à la peine de mort, à la torture ou à d'autres peines ou traitement inhumains ou dégradants », et que « les expulsions collectives sont interdites »; exige que toute législation en matière de migration se conforme à ce principe inaliénable;
