The Presidency looks forward to the report of the High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy and the European Commission on the impact of climate change on international security, which will be presented at the Spring European Council and will serve as a basis for proposing concrete policy measures at the EU level.
La présidence est consciente de l'importance du rapport du Haut représentant et de la Commission européenne sur l'influence des changements climatiques sur la sécurité internationale. Ce rapport sera présenté lors du Conseil européen et constituera la base pour l'élaboration de mesures concrètes au niveau de l'EU.

14. Takes note of the conclusions of the 8th Euro-Mediterranean Conference of ministers of Foreign Affairs held on 27 and 28 November 2006 in Tampere, particularly as regards political and security dialogue, and reiterates that a solution to the Middle East conflict is only possible through the negotiation of a firm and final peace agreement as set out in the Roadmap and the resolutions of the United Nations, which is to say one without prior conditions and based on the peaceful coexistence of two democratic, sovereign and viable states within secure and recognised international borders;
14. prend acte des conclusions de la 8 Conférence euro-méditerranéenne des ministres des affaires étrangères des 27 et 28 novembre 2006 à Tampere, notamment en matière de dialogue politique et de sécurité, et réaffirme que le conflit au Proche-Orient ne pourra être réglé que par la négociation d'un accord de paix ferme et définitif, tel que le prévoient la feuille de route et les résolutions des Nations unies, à savoir sans conditions préalables, fondé sur l'existence de deux États démocratiques, souverains et viables, vivant en paix côte à côte à l'intérieur de frontières internationales sûres et reconnues;

− I have voted in favour of Amendments 30, 34, 65, 103, 109 and 114 because although I fully support the UN International Convention on the Protection of the Rights of All Migrant Workers and Members of Their Families, I believe that regulation of access to labour markets, social security schemes and public housing are matters to be regulated by the Member States which should not be regulated at Community level.

Reiterates its full support for the UN Security Council resolution adopted under Article 41, Chapter VII of the UN Charter; endorses the European Council conclusions of 14 December 2007; welcomes the agreement reached at the meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the UNSC permanent members and Germany as well as the EU High Representative for CFSP at their meeting in Berlin on 22 January 2008 on a new draft resolution on Iran which foresees further measures and the fact that the international community maintains a common approach to the issue;

Ce fait est confirmé par l'article 1 du Traité de l'Atlantique nord selon lequel « Les parties s'engagent, ainsi qu'il est stipulé dans la Charte des Nations unies, à régler par des moyens pacifiques tous différends internationaux dans lesquels elles pourraient être impliquées, de telle manière que la paix et la sécurité internationales, ainsi que la justice, ne soient pas mises en danger, et à s'abstenir dans leurs relations internationales de recourir à la menace ou à l'emploi de la force de toute manière incompatible avec les buts des Nations unies».
