Het wetenschappelijk comité is niet tot de conclusie gekomen dat de betrokken stoffen (tylosine, virginiamycine en spiramycine) als toevoegingsmiddel in diervoeders dienden te worden verboden, maar geeft wel toe dat het gebruik van die stoffen heeft bijgedragen tot een grotere bacteriële resistentie tegen die producten en soortgelijke producten die in geneesmiddelen voor humaan gebruik worden verwerkt.
Si le Comité scientifique n'est pas arrivé à la conclusion que les substances en cause (tylosine, viginiamycine, spiramycine) devaient être interdites en tant qu'additifs des aliments des animaux, il a toutefois reconnu que leur utilisation pouvait contribuer à augmenter la résistance des bactéries à ces produits et à des produits similaires utilisés comme médicaments à usage humain.
