As regards Liechtenstein, this [INSTRUMENT] constitutes a development of the provisions of the Schengen acquis within the meaning of the Protocol between the European Union, the European Community, the Swiss Confederation and the Principality of Liechtenstein on the accession of the Principality of Liechtenstein to the Agreement between the European Union, the European Community and the Swiss Confederation on the Swiss Confederation's association with the implementation, application and development of the Schengen acquis*, which fall within the area referred to in Article 1, point [...], of Decision 1999/437/EC read in conjunction with Article 3 of Council Decision 2011/349/EU**.

Specific attention should be paid to the outermost regions, namely by adopting measures under Article 349 TFEU extending, on an exceptional basis, the scope of support from the ERDF to the financing of operating aid linked to the offsetting of the additional costs resulting from the specific economic and social situation of those regions which is compounded by the handicaps resulting from the factors referred to in Article 349 TFEU, namely remoteness, insularity, small size, difficult topography and climate, economic dependence on a few products, the permanence and combination of which severely restrain their development.
Une attention particulière devrait être accordée aux régions ultrapériphériques, en adoptant des mesures au titre de l'article 349 du traité sur le fonctionnement de l'Union européenne étendant, à titre exceptionnel, le champ d'intervention du FEDER au financement des aides au fonctionnement liées à la compensation des coûts supplémentaires découlant de la situation économique et sociale spécifique de ces régions, qui est le fait de handicaps résultant des facteurs visés à l'article 349 du traité sur le fonctionnement de l'Union européenne, à savoir leur éloignement, leur insularité, leur faible superficie, leur topographie et leur climat difficiles, ainsi que leur dépendance économique à l'égard de quelques produits, dont la permanence et la combinaison nuisent gravement à leur développement.

Pursuant to Regulation (EC) No 1606/2002 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 19 July 2002 on the application of international accounting standards (5), companies the securities of which are admitted to trading on a regulated market of any Member State have to prepare their consolidated accounts in accordance with IFRS, and are consequently relieved from most of the requirements set out in Directives 78/660/EEC and 83/349/EEC.

(b) the entity concerned is included in consolidated accounts drawn up, audited and published in accordance with Directive 83/349/EEC by a member having unlimited liability or where the entity concerned is included in the consolidated accounts of a larger body of undertakings drawn up, audited and published in conformity with Council Directive 83/349/EEC by a parent undertaking governed by the law of a Member State. The exemption must be disclosed in the notes on the consolidated accounts.
