Stresses that third-country companies participating in the whole EU and Energy Community energy production chain, which includes raw materials, generation, transportation and distribution, as well as gas storage, must respect all the requirements of the EU legislation, so as to avoid market distortion and safeguard a competitive and transparent internal energy market in the overall interests of energy security; calls on the Commission to ensure that these companies also act in line with the EU’s climate and energy policy objectives;
