IN-CONTEXT TRANSLATIONS

The three Institutions reiterate the role and responsibility of national Parliaments as laid down in the Treaties, in Protocol No 1 on the role of National Parliaments in the European Union annexed to the Treaty on European Union, to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union and to the Treaty establishing the European Atomic Energy Community and in Protocol No 2 on the application of the principles of subsidiarity and proportionality, annexed to the Treaty on European Union and to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union.
Les trois institutions rappellent le rôle et la responsabilité des parlements nationaux prévus par les traités, dans le protocole no 1 sur le rôle des parlements nationaux dans l'Union européenne annexé au traité sur l'Union européenne, au traité sur le fonctionnement de l'Union européenne et au traité instituant la Communauté européenne de l'énergie atomique et dans le protocole no 2 sur l'application des principes de subsidiarité et de proportionnalité annexé au traité sur l'Union européenne et au traité sur le fonctionnement de l'Union européenne.

It is therefore essential to ensure consistency between the external relations of both, and to allow the Union Delegations to undertake the representation of the European Atomic Energy Community in third countries and at international organisations.

The Community, through strong, continuous and coordinated Community support from the European Atomic Energy Community (Euratom) research and training programmes, together with the development of knowledge and human resources in the national fusion laboratories, working together notably in the framework of the European Fusion Development Agreement (EFDA), has created a single and fully integrated fusion research programme that has taken a leading international role in the development of fusion as a potentially limitless, safe, sustainable, environmentally responsible and economically competitive source of energy.
La Communauté, grâce à un soutien important, continu et coordonné des programmes de recherche et de formation de la Communauté économique européenne de l'énergie atomique (ci-après dénommée «Euratom»), et grâce au développement de connaissances et de ressources humaines dans les laboratoires nationaux pour la fusion, collaborant notamment dans le cadre de l'accord européen pour le développement de la fusion (EFDA), a créé un programme unique et pleinement intégré de recherche dans le domaine de la fusion, qui se place au premier rang international du développement de la fusion en tant que source d'énergie potentiellement illimitée, sûre, durable, respectueuse de l'environnement et économiquement compétitive.

The declaration attached to this Decision shall be deposited with the Director-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, depositary of the Joint Convention, as soon as possible after the adoption of this Decision by letter signed by the Head of Delegation of the European Commission to the International Organisations in Vienna.
La déclaration jointe à la présente décision est déposée auprès du directeur général de l’Agence internationale de l’énergie atomique, dépositaire de la convention, dès que possible après l’entrée en vigueur de la présente décision, au moyen d’une lettre signée par le chef de la délégation de la Commission européenne auprès des organisations internationales à Vienne.

The declaration in Article 1 shall be deposited with the Director-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, depositary of the Convention, as soon as possible after the entry into force of this Decision by letter signed by the Head of the Delegation of the European Commission to the International Organisations in Vienna, together with the English, French and Spanish versions of the present Decision.
La déclaration figurant à l’article 1er est déposée auprès du directeur général de l’Agence internationale de l’énergie atomique, dépositaire de la convention, dès que possible après l’entrée en vigueur de la présente décision, au moyen d’une lettre signée par le chef de la délégation de la Commission européenne auprès des organisations internationales à Vienne, accompagnée des versions anglaise, française et espagnole de la présente décision.

(5) Since the question of access to documents is not covered by provisions of the Treaty establishing the European Coal and Steel Community and the Treaty establishing the European Atomic Energy Community, the European Parliament, the Council and the Commission should, in accordance with Declaration No 41 attached to the Final Act of the Treaty of Amsterdam, draw guidance from this Regulation as regards documents concerning the activities covered by those two Treaties.
(5) La question de l'accès aux documents ne faisant pas l'objet de dispositions dans le traité instituant la Communauté européenne du charbon et de l'acier et dans le traité instituant la Communauté européenne de l'énergie atomique, le Parlement européen, le Conseil et la Commission devraient, conformément à la déclaration n° 41 annexée à l'acte final du traité d'Amsterdam, s'inspirer du présent règlement pour ce qui est des documents concernant les activités couvertes par ces deux traités.

The Member of the Commission responsible for research or his designated representative is authorised to sign the Agreement on behalf of the European Atomic Energy Community for the purpose of binding the European Atomic Energy Community.
Le membre de la Commission chargé de la recherche, ou son représentant désigné, est habilité à signer l'accord au nom de la Communauté européenne de l'énergie atomique aux fins d'engager la Communauté européenne de l'énergie atomique.
