The Commission's communication of 20 September 2011 entitled 'Supporting growth and jobs – an agenda for the modernisation of Europe's higher education systems' sets out a framework within which the Union, Member States and higher education institutions can cooperate to boost the number of graduates, to improve the quality of education and to maximise the contribution that higher education and research can make to helping Member States' economies and societies emerge stronger from the global economic crisis.
La communication de la Commission du 20 septembre 2011 intitulée "Soutenir la croissance et les emplois – un projet pour la modernisation des systèmes d'enseignement supérieur en Europe" définit un cadre qui permet à l'Union, aux États membres et aux établissements d'enseignement supérieur de collaborer pour accroître le nombre de diplômés, améliorer la qualité de l'enseignement et maximiser la contribution que l'enseignement supérieur et la recherche peuvent apporter pour aider les économies et les sociétés des États membres à sortir plus fortes de la crise économique mondiale.

In its Communication on Improving the Quality of Teacher Education the Commission stresses the need to equip teachers with skills to identify the specific needs of each individual learner, and respond to them by deploying a wide range of teaching strategies.
Dans sa communication intitulée «Améliorer la qualité des études et de la formation des enseignants» , la Commission souligne qu’il est nécessaire que les enseignants possèdent les compétences pour déterminer les besoins spécifiques de chaque apprenant et les satisfaire grâce à l’application d’une large gamme de stratégies pédagogiques.

WELCOME the Communication from the Commission to the Council and the European Parliament of 23 August 2007 on improving the quality of teacher education , which identifies the quality of teaching and teacher education as key factors in raising educational attainment levels and achieving the Lisbon goals, and accordingly sets out proposals aimed at maintaining and improving these.
