Proposes the creation, as an essential component of a European external energy policy, of solar energy partnerships with third countries in the Mediterranean region which aim in the initial phase to generate solar power and transfer it to the European Union via high-voltage direct-current cables, and which may in a second phase form the basis for electricity and hydrogen production and thus for the switch to a renewables-based economy;
propose la création de partenariats en matière d'énergie solaire avec des pays tiers de l'espace méditerranéen, éléments essentiels d'une politique extérieure énergétique européenne, visant dans un premier temps à produire de l'énergie solaire et à l'acheminer dans l'Union par des lignes à haute tension à courant continu et pouvant, dans un deuxième temps, servir de base à la production d'électricité et d'hydrogène et assurer ainsi le passage à une économie fondée sur les énergies renouvelables;
