Regarding the third question, I would like to mention that the Council and the European Parliament are actively encouraging, through the codecision procedure, only those projects which are mentioned in the new decision on the trans-European Network. These projects relate to gas and electricity networks (as mentioned before, the natural gas pipeline could receive joint Community funding).

But we heard that message from ASEAN partners who said Canada's not doing much by way of funding scholarships, funding joint projects, and helping them connect with Canadian universities and colleges to have joint curriculum in areas that are going to foster the growth of SME and sustainable environmental practices.
Je pense qu'on pourrait faire mieux. Nous avons toutefois tous entendu ce message des partenaires de l'ANASE suivant lesquels le Canada n'est guère actif au chapitre du financement des bourses et des projets conjoints, et ne les aide pas vraiment à nouer des liens avec les universités et les collèges canadiens qui ont des programmes d'études communs dans des domaines pouvant favoriser la croissance des PME et l'adoption de pratiques environnementales durables.
