Where the quantities caught by EU vessels exceed the quantities corresponding to twice the total annual amount, the amount due for the quantity exceeding that limit shall be paid the following year; support for the development of the sectorial fisheries policy of the Union of the Comoros amounting to EUR 300 000. This support meets the objectives of the national fisheries policy and in particular the needs of the Union of the Comoros in the fight against illegal fishing.

Indeed, as well as providing a stable legal framework for both parties, the agreement will provide the Islands with guaranteed revenue for at least three years, and this will be used in part to finance the implementation of their national fisheries policy.
En effet, outre le fait que l’accord fixe un cadre juridique clair pour les deux parties, il procure un revenu garanti aux Îles Salomon, pendant trois ans minimum. Une partie des revenus servira à financer la mise en œuvre des politiques de pêche nationales.

Closer cooperation in support of national fisheries policy, in particular on tackling IUU fishing, will contribute to the sustainable development of fishery resources and preserve them for the benefit of the local communities that depend on the sea.

Secondly, because the short-term action plan and, more importantly, the creation of a Joint Inspection and Control Structure are measures for the further integration of the ΕU in the fisheries sector, meaning greater restrictions on national fisheries policies and national measures which take account of national peculiarities and requirements.
Deuxièmement, parce que le plan d’action à court terme et surtout la création d’une structure commune d’inspection et de contrôle constituent des mesures supplémentaires d’intégration de l’UE dans le domaine de la pêche, ce qui implique une plus grande restriction de la capacité de définir des politiques de pêche nationales et de prendre des mesures nationales prenant en considération les particularités et besoins nationaux.

In particular, this will involve assessing the national fisheries policy and identifying what the country needs in order to develop sustainable fisheries policy.
