While each of these examples comes from sectoral policies, as a whole they contribute to creating the European Union’s image, presenting it not just as an economic and commercial power but also as the world’s most advanced social power. All this needs to be brought out in targeted, effective campaigns, also drawing in personalities or events from the sporting, cultural or social worlds that strongly influence public opinion or have a strong symbolic value and help to strengthen the European identity.
