TRADUCTIONS EN CONTEXTE

The agreement aims to ensure that adequate rules on the protection of intellectual property are applied in all member countries, on the basis of the basic obligations laid down by the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) in the various conventions on intellectual property rights (the Paris Convention for the Protection of Industrial Property, the Berne Convention for the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works, the Rome Convention for the Protection of Performers, Producers of Phonograms and Broadcasting Organisations, and the Washington Treaty on Intellectual Property in Respect of Integrated Circuits).
L’accord vise à garantir que des normes adéquates de protection de la propriété intellectuelle seront appliquées dans tous les pays membres, en s’inspirant des obligations de fond énoncées par l’Organisation mondiale de la propriété intellectuelle (OMPI) dans les différentes conventions relatives aux droits de la propriété intellectuelle (la Convention de Paris pour la protection de la propriété industrielle, la Convention de Berne pour la protection des œuvres littéraires et artistiques, la Convention de Rome sur la protection des artistes interprètes ou exécutants, des producteurs de phonogrammes et des organismes de radiodiffusion et le Traité de Washington sur la propriété intellectuelle en matière de circuits intégrés).

A number of international organisations have direct competence in dealing with issues relating to biotechnology - biosafety is addressed by the Cartagena Protocol, biodiversity by the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), agriculture by the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO), intellectual property rights and technology transfer by the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) and World Trade Organisation (WTO), trade by the WTO, risk analysis of foods derived from modern biotechnology in Codex Alimentarius under the World Health Organisation (WHO)/FAO, plant protection under the International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC), and the development of consensus documents by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).

- Further activities to adapt and harmonise international intellectual property protection systems at European level, and to ensure the application of adequate protection standards at international level (such as the ADPIC agreement within the World Trade Organisation and in the framework of the World Intellectual Property Organisation).
- Poursuite des actions entreprises pour adapter et harmoniser les systèmes de protection de la propriété intellectuelle au niveau européen , ainsi que pour assurer l'application des standards de protection adéquats au niveau international (tels que ceux établis par l'accord ADPIC au sein de l'Organisation Mondiale du Commerce, et dans le cadre de l'Organisation Mondiale de la Propriété Intellectuelle).

39. Calls on the Commissionand the Member States to uphold IPRs more effectively in all relevant multilateral organisations (the WTO, the World Health Organisation and the World Intellectual Property Organisation) andto work towards the inclusion in the WTO system of those IPR-related international agreements that are not yet part of it, such as the WIPO Trademark Law Treaty, the WIPO Phonograms and Performance Treaty, the WIPO Copyright Treaty, the Geneva Act of the Hague Agreement and the Lisbon Agreement for the Protection of Appellations of Origin and their International Registration;

G. whereas the evolving ABS regime under the CDB operates in a complementary fashion with the WTO and its Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights (WTO-TRIPS), the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO), the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO), the International Union for the Protection of New Varieties of Plants (UPOV) and the World Health Organisation (WHO);
G. considérant que le régime d'accès et de partage des avantages au titre de la convention sur la diversité biologique, en pleine évolution, opère de manière complémentaire avec l'OMC et ses aspects des droits de propriété intellectuelle qui touchent au commerce (ADPIC de l'OMC), l'Organisation mondiale de la propriété intellectuelle (OMPI), l'Organisation des Nations unies pour l'alimentation et l'agriculture (FAO), l'Union internationale pour la protection des obtentions végétales (UPOV) et l'Organisation mondiale de la santé (OMS);

36. Notes the work of the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) Intergovernmental Committee on Intellectual Property and Genetic Resources, and encourages similar measures to be taken and consistent definitions to be used at EU level;

30. Regrets the lack of specific means available to European businesses, and particularly SMEs, to counter intellectual property rights (IPR) infringements effectively; welcomes the Commission’s decision to propose a review of the directive on the enforcement of IPR; calls on the Commission and the Member States to improve the defence of IPR in all relevant multilateral organisations (WTO, World Health Organisation, World Intellectual Property Organisation);
30. regrette le manque de moyens concrets mis à disposition des entreprises européennes, notamment les PME, pour lutter efficacement contre les infractions aux DPI; salue la décision de la Commission de proposer une révision de la directive sur la mise en œuvre des DPI; appelle la Commission et les États membres à mieux défendre les DPI dans toutes les organisations multilatérales compétentes (l'OMC, l'Organisation mondiale de la santé et l'Organisation mondiale de la propriété intellectuelle);
