Indeed, based on our knowledge of history and the cultural elements that make each of us the person we are, based on realities and clear definitions found in the dictionary, based on a reality that is both historical and geographical and social, quite simply, without any dirty tricks, without trying to change the nature of the debate, without moving it on to another stage—a stage we are not currently at—we should be able to talk, observe and tell Quebeckers that we feel that they form a nation.
Effectivement, à partir de nos connaissances historiques et des éléments culturels qui ont fait de chacun de nous la personne que nous sommes, à partir des réalités et des définitions claires qu'on retrouve dans les dictionnaires, à partir d'une réalité autant historique que géographique et sociologique, tout simplement, sans entourloupette, sans essayer de changer la nature du débat, sans faire passer cela à un autre stade — à un stade où nous ne sommes pas actuellement — , nous devrions pouvoir parler, constater et dire aux Québécoises et aux Québécois qu'on considère qu'ils forment une nation.
