This amendment introduces the requirement for the candidate selected by the Administration Board to be heard by the European Parliament prior to his or her appointment in order to strengthen Parliament's rights in the appointment procedure and align it with other regulations establishing other agencies, such the European Chemicals Agency, the European Medicines Agency and the European Food Safety Authority which already have already incorporated this possibility.
