IN-CONTEXT TRANSLATIONS

Article 7 of Implementing Decision 2014/709/EU, providing for a derogation from the prohibition on the dispatch of consignments of animal by-products from porcine animals from the areas listed in Parts III and IV of the Annex to that Implementing Decision, should be reviewed in order to allow for a safe disposal of animal by-products of porcine origin other than feral pigs, including unprocessed bodies of dead animals, from holdings located in the areas listed in Part III of the Annex in a manner that is in line with the risk represented by these animal by-products.
Il convient de réexaminer l'article 7 de la décision d'exécution 2014/709/UE, qui prévoit une dérogation à l'interdiction d'expédier des lots de sous-produits animaux tirés d'animaux de l'espèce porcine à partir des zones mentionnées dans les parties III et IV de l'annexe de ladite décision d'exécution, afin de permettre une élimination sûre des sous-produits animaux tirés de porcs autres que les porcs sauvages, y compris les cadavres non transformés d'animaux, provenant d'exploitations situées dans les zones mentionnées dans la partie III de l'annexe, d'une manière adaptée au risque représenté par ces sous-produits animaux.

By way of derogation from the prohibition provided for in point (d) of Article 2, the Member States concerned may authorise the dispatch of animal by-products of porcine origin other than feral pigs, including unprocessed bodies of dead animals from holdings or carcases from slaughterhouses approved in accordance with Regulation (EC) No 853/2004 located in the areas listed in Part III of the Annex to a processing, incineration or co-incineration plant, as referred to in Article 24(1)(a),(b) and (c) of Regulation (EC) No 1069/2009, located outside the areas listed in Part III of the Annex, provided that:’

‘remote area’ means an area where the animal population is so small, and where disposal establishments or plants are so far away that the arrangements necessary for the collection and transport of animal by-products would be unacceptably onerous compared to local disposal.

‘zone’ means a precise geographical area with a homogeneous hydrological system comprising part of a water catchment area from the source(s) to a natural or artificial barrier that prevents the upward migration of aquatic animals from lower stretches of the water catchment area, an entire water catchment area from its source(s) to its estuary, or more than one water catchment area, including their estuaries, due to the epidemiological link between the catchment areas through the estuary.
