256 (1) Every warden
, governor, jailer, commanding officer, commandant or other keeper of a penitentiary, civil prison, service prison or detention barrack shall take cognizance of any warrant of committal purporting to be signed by a committing authority referred to in section 219 or 220, shall receive and detain, according to the exigency of that warrant, the person referred to therein and delivered into the custody of that warden
, governor, jailer, commanding officer, commandant ...[+++] or other keeper, as the case may be, and shall confine that person until discharged or delivered over in due course of law.
256 (1) Le responsable du pénitencier, de la prison civile ou militaire ou de la caserne disciplinaire prend acte de tout mandat de dépôt censé porter la signature d’une autorité habilitée à le délivrer aux termes de l’article 219 ou 220; en exécution du mandat, il procède à l’incarcération de l’individu en faisant l’objet et remis à sa garde et l’y maintient jusqu’à ce qu’il soit légalement remis en liberté ou transféré.
