Following the definition of the scope of the impact assessment, the Commission proceeded to the second round of public consultation which concentrated on four main substantive areas for improvement in the EU product safety regime: (i) procedures for mandating standards under the GPSD for non-harmonised products, (ii) harmonisation of safety evaluations, (iii) market surveillance cooperation and coordination, including the functioning of the EU Rapid Information System (RAPEX) and on-line distribution channels, and (iv) alignment with the Free Movement of Goods Package.
Une fois ce dernier défini, la Commission a lancé un deuxième cycle de consultations publiques axées sur les quatre grands domaines thématiques ci-après, susceptibles d’être améliorés dans le dispositif de l’Union visant à garantir la sécurité des produits: i) procédures de normalisation de produits non harmonisés, en vertu de mandats donnés au titre de la DSGP, ii) harmonisation des évaluations de sécurité, iii) coopération et coordination en matière de surveillance du marché, ce qui comprend le fonctionnement du système RAPEX d’information rapide de l’Union et les canaux de distribution en ligne et iv) alignement sur le paquet «Libre circulation des marchandises».
