The present report therefore sets out the measures implemented in 1993 according to the priorities of enterprise policy, namely (a) horizontal measures relating to the environment of businesses and (b) measures to inform and support businesses, to promote cooperation between firms and to improve the business-partner-search network. As regards the environment of businesses, 1993 saw the preparation of new measures in the following areas: transferring businesses (symposium held in January), payment periods (consultation of the circles concerned), the financial environment (adoption of the Communication of 19.10.1993) and administrative simplification (a seminar was organized on the system of assessing the impact of Community legislation, which dealt chiefly with cost-benefit analysis).
