In order to guarantee the quality of the service provided in the interests of justice, it would be appropriate to oblige every Member State to draw up a register of sworn translators and interpreters, who would be have to comply with a national or Community code of conduct, in order to ensure their impartiality and accuracy of translation.
Afin de garantir la qualité du service fourni dans l'intérêt de la justice, il serait judicieux de faire obligation à chaque État membre de dresser une liste des traducteurs et interprètes jurés qui respecteraient un code de conduite national ou communautaire afin d'assurer l'impartialité et la fidélité de la traduction.

11. Believes that the Member States should adopt a code of conduct containing ethical guidelines and other good practices to be adhered to by certified translators and interpreters, failing which accreditation would be withdrawn or the individuals concerned would be dismissed from the profession; this code of conduct should be drawn up with due regard for the opinions of all interested parties, such as schools for translators and interpreters, ministries of justice and professional associations and so on; also believes that Member States should provide suitable technical training courses for sworn translators and interpreters to ensure that they understand the meaning of legal terms and are versed in the workings of the judicial system;
11. est d'avis que les États membres devraient adopter un code de conduite qui contienne des directives éthiques et autres bonnes pratiques, que les traducteurs et interprètes jurés seraient tenus de respecter sous peine de perdre leur accréditation ou d'être radiés de la profession; ce code de conduite devrait être élaboré prenant en compte l'avis de tous les secteurs concernés tels que les écoles de traducteurs et interprètes, les ministères de justice, les instituts professionnels; juge également utile que les États membres garantissent, par des cours de formation technique appropriée, que les traducteurs et les interprètes jurés connaissent le sens des termes juridiques ainsi que l'organisation générale du système judiciaire;
