Thanks to assistance from the Fund, which, particularly at the beginning of the period, concentrated quite heavily (29% of Portugal's 'quota'), on road transport, the Lisbon-Madrid and Lisbon-La Coruña routes could be completed and construction of the Lisbon-Valladolid route speeded up.
