Relevant Commission working groups are therefore requested to give a follow-up to the opinions of the European Scientific Committees on risk assessment.

This excellent performance is due to a combination of different factors: clearly defined objectives with transnational scope; a European-wide partnership highly motivated in the achievement of shared objectives; an efficient coordinator able to share responsibilities with others; the establishment of European scientific committees of experts which set the scientific guidelines and coordinated the work of national experts; the involvement of a variety of professionals; and an efficient management of work.

Risk Assessment : the European Scientific Committee on Animal Nutrition (SCAN) adopted an opinion on "Dioxins in Feed" on 6/11/2000 and the Scientific Committee on Food (SCF) adopted an opinion on "Risk Assessment of dioxins and dioxin-like PCBs in Food" on 22/11/2000.
Évaluation des risques : le comité scientifique européen de l'alimentation animale (CSAA) a adopté un avis concernant les dioxines dans l'alimentation animale le 6/11/2000; le comité scientifique de l'alimentation humaine (CSAH) a quant à lui adopté un avis concernant l'évaluation des dioxines et des PCB de type dioxines dans les denrées alimentaires, le 22/11/2000.

Every reference in Community legislation to the Scientific Committee on Food, the Scientific Committee on Animal Nutrition, the Scientific Veterinary Committee, the Scientific Committee on Pesticides, the Scientific Committee on Plants and the Scientific Steering Committee shall be replaced by a reference to the European Food Safety Authority.

(5) Whereas, in drafting this updated Note for Guidance, the Committee for Proprietary Medicinal Products of the European Agency for the Evaluation of Medicinal Products took into account all relevant Opinions of the Scientific Committee on Medicinal Products and Medical Devices, as well as the Scientific Steering Committee and additional scientific considerations which apply to the specific field of medicinal products;
(5) considérant que, pour élaborer cette "Note for Guidance" révisée, le comité des spécialités pharmaceutiques de l'Agence européenne pour l'évaluation des médicaments a tenu compte de tous les avis appropriés du comité scientifique des médicaments et des dispositifs médicaux et du comité directeur scientifique ainsi que d'autres considérations scientifiques relatives au domaine spécifique des médicaments;
