– (IT) Yesterday, Mr President, while I was in the aeroplane flying me from Bergamo to Strasbourg, I shut my eyes for a moment and I saw the Italian theatrical character, Pantalone, who is famous for being penniless and poverty-stricken, talking to Mr Santini. Pantalone was asking Mr Santini: ‘Why do you not let me move throughout Europe in your report?’ ‘I?’ replied Mr Santini.
- (IT) Hier, Monsieur le Président, alors que je me trouvais dans l’avion qui m’amenait de Bergame à Strasbourg, j’ai fermé les yeux un moment et j’ai vu le personnage du théâtre italien Pantalon, connu pour être sans-le-sou, sans argent. Il parlait avec M. Santini à qui il demandait : "Pourquoi, dans ton rapport, ne me laisses-tu pas circuler en Europe"".
