TRADUCTIONS EN CONTEXTE

While I work locally to promote organ donation, let me try to think globally and present a bit of a national perspective from my background as a past president of the Canadian Transplantation Society and a representative to the Canadian Coalition on Organ Donor Awareness at that time; former co-chair of Organ Sharing Canada, in its initiative to increase organ donation in Canada; acting chair of the expert working group advising Health Canada in establishing standards for organ and tissue transplantation; and member of the Links to Success advisory group, a group established by the Kidney Foundation of Canada to promote organ donation in this country.
Même si je travaille au niveau local à la promotion du don d'organes, je vais essayer de penser au niveau mondial et de présenter une perspective nationale à partir de mon expérience de président sortant de la Société canadienne de greffe et représentant actuel de la Coalition canadienne de sensibilisation au don d'organes, d'ancien coprésident du Programme pancanadien d'échanges d'organes, une initiative qui visait à augmenter le taux des dons d'organes au Canada, de président suppléant d'un groupe d'experts chargés de conseiller Santé Canada sur l'adoption de normes concernant les greffes d'organes et de tissus, et de membre du groupe de consultation Links to Success, créé par la Fondation canadienne du rein pour faire la promotion du don d'organes dans ce pays.

Cloning is the creation of an organism that is an exact genetic copy of another. This means the two organisms share exactly the same DNA.

Considers that an additional benefit of collaboration between Member States, which is insufficiently emphasised in the above-mentioned Commission Communication, is the potential value of organ sharing between Member States in terms of medical and technical opportunities, although takes full account of the geographical limitations to such exchanges and the potential effects on organ viability; underlines in this respect the positive results of international systems; believes that organ sharing can be very helpful particularly as far as difficult transplant procedures are concerned (for example in the case of highly sensitized or urgent patients and patients with special conditions, for whom it is difficult to find a suitable donor);

The recommendations contained in the report by Mr Adamou are a step in the right direction: an exchange of best practice, increased cooperation, more organ sharing between Member States, better public awareness and the need to preserve the voluntary and non-commercial nature of organ donation.
Les recommandations du rapport Adamou vont dans le bon sens: échange de meilleures pratiques, coopération renforcée, augmentation des échanges d'organes d'un État membre à l'autre, meilleure information du public et nécessité de préserver le caractère bénévole et non commercial du don d'organe.

On top of increased support for the development of our communities and control over the allocation of funds, we also have to deal with the specific challenges that our organizations share with other organizations which are fully or partly volunteer based.
