I think in general — although I do not have the figures that my friend Lord Tyler has — there is not much public concern about the House of Lords. The House of Lords, in recent years, has acquired the reputation of being a defender of civil liberties and human rights, especially in these troubled times that we live in, when there are issues about terrorism and about holding to the rule of law, and so on.
