From Canada, then, it is most appropriate that our Parliament advise and request the mother of parliaments to mandate the return of the Athenian marbles to Greece prior to the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, recognizing their profound historical significance and the importance these marbles play in the place and worth of Greek history and to the Greek sense of self.
Il est donc des plus approprié que notre Parlement, celui du Canada, demande au Parlement mère de décréter la remise des marbres d'Athènes à la Grèce, avant les Jeux olympiques de 2004 à Athènes, reconnaissant ainsi la profonde signification historique et l'importance de ces marbres pour l'histoire de la Grèce et pour le sentiment d'identité collective des Grecs.
