However, although transfers may not take place when an adequate level of protection is not guaranteed, there are a number of exceptions to this rule listed in the Directive, e.g. the data subject himself agrees to the transfer, in the event of the conclusion of a contract, it is necessary for public interest grounds, but also if Binding Corporate Rules or Standard Contractual Clauses have been authorised by the Member State.
