Definition: This block contains a wide variety of disorders that differ in severity and clinical form but that are all attributable to the use of one or more psychoactive substances, which may or may not have been medically prescribed. This goes to show how incredibly feeble the international community is where Darfur is concerned, and the fact that the UN’s Vice-Secretary-General was prevented from travelling into the crisis zone in the first place shows that the Khartoum regime is quite blatantly defying and cold-shouldering the international community and thereby making of it a laughing stock.

Egeland, le vice-secrétaire général de l’ONU chargé du Darfour, rien que depuis le début de cette année, plus de 200 000 personnes ont été chassées de leur habitation et plus de 96 villages ont été entièrement brûlés - le tout plus d’un an après le début de l’intervention de la communauté internationale visant à mettre un terme à cette situation, ce qui démontre l’incroyable asthénie de la communauté internationale s’agissant du Darfour. D’ailleurs, le fait que le vice-secrétaire général de l’ONU n’ait pas eu l’autorisation de se rendre dans la zone de crise démontre que, manifestement, le régime de Khartoum défie la communauté internationale et bat froid à celle-ci, la couvrant de la sorte de ridicule.

However, in view of the fact that six years have passed since the adoption of the General Data Protection Directive and many of the Member States have still not ratified it, that four years have passed since the adoption of the directive to be amended by this proposal for a directive and that many of the Member States have not even applied the ’97 directive, it is reasonable to predict, given these time frames, that this legislation will also take who knows, maybe three, four or five years to enter into force.
