In the Ministerial Declaration "The Future We Want"[35], world leaders affirmed their commitment to the human right to safe drinking water and sanitation, to the progressive realisation of access to safe and affordable drinking water and sanitation for all (i.e. beyond Johannesburg and the MDGs) and to significantly improve the implementation of integrated water resource management.
