The EU and its Member States have long been leading donors on transparency, and several of them have implemented the International Aid Transparency Initiative (IATI) - an innovative transparency standard which enables the publication of comparable aid data from the various donors to allow for more accurate budgeting, accounting and auditing by developing countries.
L’UE et ses États membres montrent depuis longtemps la voie à suivre en matière de transparence et plusieurs d’entre eux ont mis en œuvre l'Initiative internationale en faveur de la transparence de l'aide (IITA) – norme de transparence innovante pour la publication de données comparables sur l'aide par les différents donateurs permettant aux pays partenaires d’établir un budget, une comptabilité et un contrôle des comptes plus précis.

Emphasises that aid transparency is essential in order to ensure both ownership and aid effectiveness; calls, therefore, on the Commission and Member States to adopt an ambitious stance on aid transparency by promoting at international level mechanisms that seek to establish global standards in this area, such as the International Aid Transparency Initiative (IATI); calls on the Member States that have not yet done so to sign up and implement the IATI;
