41. Considers that the latest failure of the WTO trade negotiations indicates that the European Union must review its policy on international trade negotiations, and urges it to bring forward new proposals for future multilateral trade negotiations with a view to adopting regulatory and stabilising mechanisms for a fair international trading system, aimed at tackling global problems such as poverty, lack of development and food sovereignty, soaring food prices, epidemics, joblessness and relocations, destruction of the environment and climate change;
41. estime que le récent échec des négociations de l'OMC montre que l'Union européenne doit revoir sa politique dans ce domaine et l'invite instamment à faire de nouvelles propositions pour de futures négociations commerciales multilatérales en vue de l'adoption de mécanismes régulateurs et stabilisateurs pour un système commercial international équitable se proposant de lutter contre des problèmes planétaires, comme la pauvreté, l'absence de développement et de souveraineté alimentaire, l'augmentation des prix des aliments, les épidémies, le chômage et les délocalisations, la destruction de l'environnement et le changement climatique;

Considers that the new failure of the trade negotiations at the WTO indicates that the European Union must review its policy on international trade negotiations, and urges it to bring forward new proposals for future multilateral trade negotiations with a view to adopting regulative and stabilising mechanisms for a fair international trading system, aimed at tackling global problems such as poverty, lack of development and food sovereignty, epidemics, joblessness and relocations, destruction of the environment and climate change, soaring food prices and food insecurity, and the financial crisis; considers that this requires the EU to issue a new mandate to the Commission;
2. estime que le nouvel échec des négociations commerciales à l'OMC traduit la nécessité pour l'Union européenne de revoir sa politique en matière de négociations commerciales internationales et invite instamment l'UE à présenter de nouvelles propositions relatives à de futures négociations commerciales multilatérales censées favoriser l'adoption de mécanismes de réglementation et de stabilisation qui soutiendraient un système commercial international équitable, destiné à remédier aux problèmes mondiaux tels que la pauvreté, le retard de développement et la souveraineté alimentaire, les épidémies, le chômage et les délocalisations, la dégradation de l'environnement et le changement climatique, la flambée des prix alimentaires et l'insécurité alimentaire, et la crise financière; estime que pour relever ces défis, l'Union doit investir la Commission d'un nouveau mandat;

6. The Members undertake, in particular, to develop a scheme for the mutual recognition of geographical indications to ensure protection, ex officio, of geographical indications protected under the national law of the Members, and to prohibit and repress the use in their territories, for the purposes of international trade, of such geographical indications and designations of olive oils, olive-pomace oils and table olives as conflict with these principles.
6. Les membres s’engagent notamment à établir un système de reconnaissance mutuelle des indications géographiques en vue d’assurer une protection ex officio des indications géographiques protégées par le droit national des membres et à prohiber et à réprimer l’emploi sur leur territoire, pour le commerce international, d’indications géographiques et de dénominations d’huiles d’olive, d’huiles de grignons d’olive et d’olives de table contraires à ces principes.
