In his book, “The Trouble With Africa: Why Foreign Aid Isn’t Working,” he states that “The simplest way to explain Africa ’s problems is that it has never known good government No other continent has experienced such prolonged dictatorships . these men spent their entire careers enriching themselves, intimidating political opponents, avoiding all but the merest trappings of democracy, actively frustrating movements toward constitutional rule, and thumbing their noses — sometimes subtly, other times blatantly — at the international community.
