A partnership involving 8 regions led by Noord-Brabant (NL), Flanders (BE) and Norte (PT) will develop joint projects in the field of 3D printing; A group of 9 regions led by Flanders (BE) will work together in the bio-economy sector; Bretagne (FR), together with 3 regions and Estonia, will focus on cybersecurity; Lombardia (IT) and 7 other regions have chosen the circular economy, and more specifically de- and re-manufacturing, as their speciality; Toscana (IT), 21 other regions and Estonia will dedicate common efforts to develop new solutions in high-tech farming; Scotland (UK) and País Vasco (ES) are coordinating a group of 16 regions for joint projects in the field of marine renewable energy. The Norwegian region of Sogn og Fjordane is also associated. Andalucía (ES) and 5 other regions have defined sustainable buildings as their thematic priority; Andalucía (ES) and Emilia-Romagna (IT) lead a group of 9 regions who will come up with innovative projects in the fields of traceability and big data in agri-food.

(16) To achieve maximum impact, the Bio-Based Industries Joint Undertaking should develop close synergies with other Union programmes in areas such as education, environment, competitiveness and SMEs, and with the Cohesion Policy funds and Rural Development Policy, which can specifically help to strengthen national and regional research and innovation capabilities in the context of smart specialisation strategies. It is vital to step up coordination, communication and complementarity with other policies and funds, as well as to find cross-financing opportunities.
(16) Pour un impact maximal, d'étroites synergies devraient être réalisées entre l'EC Bio-industries et d'autres programmes de l'Union dans des secteurs tels que l'éducation, l'environnement, la compétitivité et les PME, ainsi qu'avec les fonds de la politique de cohésion et avec la politique de développement rural, qui peuvent contribuer spécifiquement à renforcer les capacités nationales et régionales de recherche et d'innovation dans le contexte des stratégies de spécialisation intelligente; il est indispensable d'améliorer la coordination, la communication et la complémentarité avec les autres politiques et les autres fonds, ainsi que de trouver des possibilités de financement croisé.

(21e) Taking due account of the intended synergies between Horizon 2020 and the Structural Funds as well as relevant national and regional RD funding programmes, regions across the Union should be encouraged to contribute pro-actively to the activities of the IMI2 Joint Undertaking, e.g. by supporting financially relevant research infrastructure, the preparation of proposals, the exploitation of research results or networking activities of relevant actors, aiming at boosting the regional impact of the activities of the IMI2 Joint Undertaking and their potential to create jobs and growth at regional level.

Cross-border cooperation (73% of the budget) provides funding for the implementation of joint strategies for the regions which are situated along the Member States' internal (and sometimes external) borders and not at a distance of more than 150 km from each other. Its implementation is 'territorialised' at NUTS 3 level and meets the local needs of cross-border regions.

36. Urges the Commission and the Member States to pay more attention to, and to support, the LDCs in order to increase total EU funding for Aid for Trade, which has not seen substantial increases recently; takes the view that, as regional integration becomes increasingly important in the context of the EU Aid for Trade agenda, efforts to complete the ACP regional Aid for Trade packages should be stepped up; takes the view that there is room for improvement in aid effectiveness by increasing joint analysis, joint response strategies and joint delivery of Aid for Trade measures;
36. prie instamment la Commission et les États membres d'accorder davantage d'attention et de soutien aux PMA dans l'optique d'accroître le montant total des crédits accordés par l'Union européenne à l'aide liée au commerce, lesquels n'ont pas fait l'objet d'augmentation substantielle récente; estime, dans la mesure où l'intégration régionale constitue un aspect de plus en plus important dans le cadre du programme d'aide au commerce de l'Union, qu'il convient de redoubler d'efforts pour parachever les paquets régionaux ACP d'aide au commerce; considère qu'il est possible d'améliorer l'efficacité de l'aide en améliorant l'analyse commune, les stratégies d'intervention conjointe et la mise en œuvre conjointe des mesures d'aide au commerce;

4. Where the measures provided for in paragraph 1 are undertaken by joint ventures constituted, with the aim of marketing produce from the regions concerned, by producers or producer organisations or associations in those regions and natural or legal persons established in the rest of the Community, and where the partners undertake to pool the knowledge and know-how required to achieve the objective of the joint venture over a minimum period of three years, the amount of the aid specified in paragraph 2 shall be increased to 13 % of the value of the annual production marketed jointly.
4.
