As regards the financial support that Spain has granted to Delphi in the form of State aid, the Spanish authorities have informed the Commission that, in addition to some public aid to specific R[amp]D projects under approved State aid schemes , on 17/10/2006 a decision to grant the company a subsidy of € 4.26 million. was taken by the Consejería de Innovación, Ciencia y Empresa of the Junta de Andalucía , for an investment project to be implemented before 30/05/2006.
Concernant l’aide financière que l’Espagne a accordée à Delphi sous forme d’aide d’État, les autorités espagnoles ont informé la Commission qu’en plus d’une aide publique à des projets spécifiques de R[amp]D dans le cadre des régimes d’aide d’État approuvés , le 17 octobre 2006, la Consejería de Innovación, Ciencia y Empresa de la Junta de Andalucía a pris la décision d’accorder à l’entreprise une subvention de 4,26 millions d’euros pour un projet d’investissement à réaliser avant le 30 mai 2006.

I would therefore appeal directly to the European Commission to help us, and the Institutions, in this case the Junta de Andalucía, the local authorities affected and the unions, to stop this closure.

The Commission has approved an aid package in support of the restructuring of car producer Santana S.A. in Spain The aid scheme consists in : (a) a loan by the Spanish Official Credit Institute (ICO) for an amount of PTA 6800 million; (b) a loan by Instituto de Fomento de Andalucía (IFA), public institute owned by the Junta de Andalucía, for the same amount of PTA 6800 million of which 6716 million was paid illegally; (c) Social aid to redundant workers, totalling PTA 8 412 million.
