The Cotonou rules must therefore adapt to this new situation and I propose – at the request of the President of the Republic of Italy, Giorgio Napolitano, who officially supports this proposal – that a decentralised office or a fixed annual meeting of the ACP Assembly be established in the most multi-ethnic, most Mediterranean European city, which is also close to the ACP countries: Naples.
Les règles de Cotonou doivent par conséquent être adaptées à cette nouvelle situation et je suggère - à la demande du président de la République italienne, M. Giorgio Napolitano, qui soutient officiellement cette proposition - qu’un bureau décentralisé ou qu’une réunion annuelle fixe de l’Assemblée ACP soit institué dans la ville européenne la plus méditerranéenne et la plus multiethnique, proche des pays ACP, à savoir Naples.
