The market organization for bananas has taken into account the special conditions attaching to the production and marketing of bananas in the French overseas departments and of the need to continue and step up the measures for this sector already taken under Poseidom; - in the fisheries sector, a number of measures have been taken to improve integration of the overseas departments into the common fisheries policy. These include producers' organizations, incorporation of the tropical shrimp from French Guiana and so on; - other measures have also been taken, both to meet specific needs
(customs zones and warehouses ...[+++], regional cooperation between the overseas departments, the overseas territories and the ACP States, etc.) and through appropriate adjustments to certain Community policies (VAT, excise duties, air and sea transport, etc.) and the Commission's positive response to State aids and the schemes for exempting local produces from dock dues.
