1. The maximum Community contribution to the IMI Joint Undertaking covering running costs and Research Activities shall be EUR 1 000 million. The contribution shall be paid from the appropriation in the general budget of the European Union allocated to the ‘Health’ theme of the Specific Programme Cooperation implementing the Seventh Framework Programme according to the provisions of Article 54(2)(b) of the Financial Regulation.

La contribution maximale de la Communauté à l'entreprise commune IMI couvrant les frais de fonctionnement et les activités de recherche est de 1 000 millions EUR, à prélever sur les crédits du budget général de l'Union européenne alloués au thème «Santé» du programme spécifique «Coopération» mettant en œuvre le septième programme-cadre, conformément aux dispositions de l'article 54, paragraphe 2, point b), du règlement financier.

The maximum Community contribution indicated in this Decision may be increased accordingly by the Commission.

Payments shall be calculated on the basis of the Community contribution to the financing of the operations concerned, up to the amount obtained by applying the co-financing rate laid down for each priority axis in the financing decision to the eligible expenditure, subject to the maximum Community contribution attached to each priority axis.

By way of derogation from Article 44, the Community contribution to the programmes under this component shall be calculated by applying the co-financing rate laid down for each priority axis in the financing decision to the eligible expenditure certified in each expenditure declaration, subject to the maximum Community contribution attached to each priority axis.

2. Turkey may partially use Community assistance to pay the contribution to the Centre with a maximum Community contribution of 75 % in the first year of participation, 60 % in the second year of participation and 50 % thereafter.
