Definition: This block contains a wide variety of disorders that differ in severity and clinical form but that are all attributable to the use of one or more psychoactive substances, which may or may not have been medically prescribed. The third character of the code identifies the substance involved, and the fourth character specifies the clinical state. These declarations – it is worth pointing out – are to the effect that the Member does not hold any of the offices listed in Article 6 which are incompatible with membership of the European Parliament. They also contain precise information on the Member’s professional activities, any other remunerated functions or activities and any support, whether financial or in terms of staff or material. I have to say that making these declarations is the sole responsibility of the Member, who must make them to the best of his or her knowledge.
Ces déclarations - comme il n'est plus nécessaire de le rappeler - se réfèrent, d'une part, au fait que le député n'exerce aucune des fonctions énumérées dans l'article 6, incompatibles avec le mandat au Parlement et, d'autre part, au fait qu'elles contiennent des informations exactes sur les activités professionnelles, toute fonction ou activité rémunérée et soutien financier, en personnel ou en matériel. Je dois dire que la présentation de ces déclarations relève de la seule responsabilité du député qui les fait en son âme et conscience.

The second point that we must consider is encouraging the development of these new businesses, to encourage new entrepreneurs, to make sure that the traditional ideas of the European social model that Mr Medina referred to earlier do not in fact inhibit the development of making Europe the place that is going to have the sort of energy and excitement that we see currently in the United States in adopting these new technologies.
Il nous faut tenir compte d'un deuxième point : il faut encourager le développement de ces nouvelles entreprises, encourager les nouveaux entrepreneurs, pour faire en sorte que les idées traditionnelles du modèle social européen, auquel M. Medina a fait allusion plus tôt, n’entravent pas en fait le développement qui fera que l’Europe connaîtra le dynamisme et l'enthousiasme des Américains à l’égard de l’adoption de ces nouvelles technologies.
