(2) Nothing in this Act shall be construed as affecting the status of an employee who, immediately before the coming into force of this subsection, occupied a position in Investment Canada (other than an employee who occupied a position in the Investment Development Division of Investment Canada or who performed duties and functions in connection with that Division), except that the employee shall, on the coming into force of this Act, occupy their position in the Department of Industry under the authority of the Deputy Minister of Industry.

6. The person occupying the position of President of the Public Service Human Resources Management Agency of Canada on the day on which section 1 comes into force or the day on which section 4 or 5 operates according to its terms, as the case may be, is deemed, as of that day, to be appointed to that position under subsection 6(2.1) of the Financial Administration Act and continues to occupy it until another person is appointed to that position under that subsection.

3 (1) An employee who occupies a position in the office of the Ethics Commissioner immediately before the day on which section 81 of the Parliament of Canada Act, as enacted by section 28 of this Act, comes into force continues in that position, except that from that day the employee occupies that position in the office of the Conflict of Interest and Ethics Commissioner.
