Whenever I would visit my Uncle Dan in North River, particularly if he knew that I was coming, I would open the door to his little kitchen in his home in North River Bridge to be confronted by two pictures: One of Monty MacMillan, who had been a Liberal MLA; and the other, a smiling Allan J. He would say to me, " Now John, this is just to remind you that there is to be no political talk while you are here" .
