The text of the Protocol of Accession to the Trade Agreement between the European Union and its Member States, of the one part, and Colombia and Peru, of the other part, to take account of the accession of Ecuador (‘the Protocol’) was approved by the Trade Committee established pursuant to the Agreement at its meeting on 8 February 2016, as required by Article 329(4) of the Agreement.

in the case of rebalancing of concessions or other obligations under provisions on safeguards in international trade agreements, the Union's action shall be substantially equivalent to the level of concessions or other obligations affected by the safeguard measure, in accordance with the conditions of the WTO Agreement on Safeguards or of the provisions on safeguards in other international trade agreements, including regional or bilateral agreements, under which the safeguard measure is applied;

The dispute settlement mechanisms set up by the Agreement establishing the World Trade Organization (WTO) and by other international trade agreements, including regional or bilateral agreements, aim at finding a positive solution to any disputes arising between the Union and the other party or parties to those agreements.

Those individuals shall have specialised knowledge or experience in law, international trade or other matters relating to this Part of the Agreement or in the resolution of disputes deriving from international trade agreements, be independent, serve in their individual capacities and not be affiliated with, nor take instructions from, any Party or organisation and shall comply with the Code of Conduct set out in Annex XVI. Such list may be amended every three years.

Whereas in most areas of the Community beet growers and sugar manufactures have formed trade organisations ; whereas inter-trade agreements at present exist between manufacturers or manufacturers' organisations on the one hand and growers' organisations on the other ; whereas such agreements concern in particular the conditions of purchase for beet ; whereas, therefore, the possibility of derogating from the rules in force should be confined to inter-trade agreements ; whereas, in the absence of an inter-trade agreement as defined above, the arrangements existing before the conclusion of contracts between the manufacturer and some of his growers should be regarded as an inter-trade agreement;
