9. The Council in particular took note with appreciation of the work undertaken by the Working Group on the drafting of an Optional Protocol to the Convention against Torture, and the personal efforts made by its Chairman-Rapporteur Ms. Odio Benito, and stressed the EU determination to take, in consultation with the chairperson-rapporteur and other participants, the most efficient steps to have a strong optional protocol adopted.
9. Le Conseil a en particulier pris acte avec satisfaction du travail entrepris par le Groupe de travail sur l'élaboration d'un protocole facultatif à la Convention contre la torture et des efforts qu'a personnellement déployés son PrésidentRapporteur, Mme Odio Benito, et il a insisté sur la détermination de l'UE de s'employer aussi efficacement que possible, en étroite concertation avec le Président-Rapporteur et d'autres participants, à faire adopter un protocole facultatif fort.
