Should the Senate of Canada approve Bill S-5, we will be one step closer to formally establishing Canada's forty-fourth national park and, perhaps more importantly, realizing the vision set forth by the Sahtu Dene and Metis to conserve the upper reaches of the South Nahanni River and honour the request of the Sahtu Dene and Metis to ensure that these lands will continue to sustain their traditional ways of life in the decades and centuries to come.
