In February 1989, the French company Rhône Poulenc and the US company Monsanto informed the Commission that they had come to a preliminary understanding concerning the acquisition by Rhône Poulenc of all Monsanto's production units in the United States, the United Kingdom and Thailand involved in the manufacture of two lines of products, namely, salicylic acid, methyl salicylate and acetylsalicylic acid on the one hand, and acetyl para amino phenol on the other.
En février 1989, la société française Rhône Poulenc et la société américaine Monsanto ont informé la Commission de leurs engagements préliminaires concernant l'acquisition par Rhône Poulenc de la totalité des unités de production de Monsanto aux Etats Unis, au Royaume Uni et en Thailande, opérant dans le domaine de la fabrication de deux lignes de produits, à savoir, d'une part, l'acide salicylique, le salicylate de méthyle et l'acide acétil salicylique et, d'autre part, l'acétyl para amino phénol.
