We, in all the groups, agreed on six questions, covering many issues that people fight shy of talking about: the goal of European integration, the borders of Europe, the future of the economic and social model, Europe’s role in the world, the area of security, freedom and law, not to mention the social issues – and, even if the constitution does not do all the things we want it to do, which it goes without saying it will not, then I do nonetheless hope that this plan brings us a good deal closer to this objective.
Tous les groupes s’étaient mis d’accord sur six questions, qui couvrent de nombreux sujets dont on veut éviter à tout prix de parler: l’objectif de l’intégration européenne, les frontières de l’Europe, l’avenir du modèle économique et social, le rôle de l’Europe dans le monde, l’espace de sécurité, de liberté et de droit, sans parler des questions sociales - et, même si la Constitution ne fait pas tout ce que nous voudrions qu’elle fasse, ce qui est évident, j’espère néanmoins que ce projet nous rapprochera nettement de cet objectif.
