Where a Member State considers that any major accident relating to an offshore oil and gas operation under its jurisdiction is likely to have significant effects on the environment in another Member State, or where a Member State likely to be significantly affected so requests, the Member State in whose jurisdiction the operations are to take place, shall forward the relevant information to the affected Member State, to the Commission and to the Agency pursuant to the relevant provisions of Union law.
