Green Paper on the development of the single market for postal services, published on 11 June 1992; Having regard to the communication from the Commission on guidelines for the development of Community postal services; Whereas the development of postal services is an important feature of the development of the single market for the promotion
of the economic and social development of the Community and its Member St
...[+++]ates; Whereas the provisions of the Treaty on the freedom to provide services cover the postal sector; Whereas the Green Paper and the abovementioned communication identify the aspects of postal services which are of Community interest; Whereas in view of these aspects it appears that efforts should be made at Community level to improve the efficiency and quality of postal services; Whereas the Commission has undertaken broad public consultation and has received contributions from interested parties in the postal sector; Whereas it is necessary to fix the main objectives of the development of postal services in the Community, in accordance with the Treaty; 1. GIVES ITS SUPPORT: to the general approach contained in the Commission's Green Paper on the development of the single market for postal services; 2. TAKES NOTE OF: the consultation which took place between the interested parties and the resulting Commission communication on the guidelines for developing Community postal services, certain aspects of which nevertheless remain to be considered in detail with a view to reaching an overall agreement; 3. REAFFIRMS: that a political agreement with the full participation of both the European Parliament and the Council is the best way of encouraging the implementation of the future Community policy in the postal sector; 4. ement économique et ...[+++]social de la Communauté et de ses Etats membres ; considérant que les dispositions du Traité concernant la libre prestation des services couvrent le secteur postal ; considérant que le Livre vert et la communication précités identifient les aspects des services postaux qui revêtent un intérêt communautaire ; considérant qu'au vu de ces aspects, il apparait que des efforts devraient être assurés au niveau de la Communauté en vue d'améliorer l'efficacité et la qualité des services postaux ; considérant que la Commission a entamé une large consultation publique et qu'elle a reçu des contributions de parties intéressées au secteur postal ; considérant qu'il est nécessaire de fixer les principaux objectifs du développement des services postaux dans la Communauté, conformément au Traité ; 1. APPUIE : l'approche générale contenue dans le Livre vert de la Commission sur le développement du marché unique des services postaux ; 2. PREND NOTE : de la consultation intervenue avec les parties intéressées et de la Communication consécutive de la Commission sur les lignes directrices pour le développement des services postaux communautaires dont certains aspects restent néanmoins à approfondir en vue notamment d'aboutir à un accord global ; 3.
