I have not mentioned Chechnya, because a sitting was dedicated almost entirely to this issue last month and I should like to remind Mr Staes that if he wants to know what the Presidency’s position on Chechnya is, he should attend the sittings or read the Minutes of this Parliament, because it is unacceptable for us to hold a debate on Chechnya lasting hours, for the Presidency and the Commission to state their position and the following month for someone to claim that we are saying nothing on the matter.
Je n’ai pas parlé de la Tchétchénie parce que le mois dernier, une session entière lui a été consacrée ; j’aimerais par ailleurs rappeler à M. Staes que, s’il désire connaître la position de la présidence sur la Tchétchénie, qu’il vienne ici ou qu’il lise les procès-verbaux de ce Parlement, parce qu’il n’est pas admissible que nous tenions ici un débat de plusieurs heures sur la Tchétchénie, que la présidence et la Commission expriment leur position en la matière et que, le mois suivant, on nous dise que nous n’avons rien dit.
