The major stages were consultation within inter-trade consultative committees in the 1960s, the beginnings of concerted action with the establishment of the Standing Committee on Employment and the organization of tripartite conferences in the 1970s and finally the commitment of the social partners to dialogue and negotiation in the Val Duchesse social dialogue since 1985.
