The Commission considers that, after seven years of uninterrupted protection of the steel industry, given the current favourable situation on the world steel market and in view of the remarkable progress achieved by the US industry both financially and in terms of competitiveness, it is not essential to renew these agreements.
4. L'administration américaine continuera à surveiller les efforts de modernisation de l'industrie américaine. La Commission estime qu'après une période ininterrompue de protection de 7 ans, un renouvellement de ces accords dans le secteur sidérurgique n'est pas indispensable compte tenu des remarquables progrès enregistrés par la sidérurgie américaine, tant sur le plan financier qu'en termes de compétitivité, ainsi que la bonne conjoncture mondiale du marché de l'acier.
